Gabe Subry, owner of CrossFit 209 Sport & CrossFit Games Athlete, is the programmer for the Golden State Games. He is working with Another Level CrossFit’s staff, as they have 5 past successful competitions that were sold out and highly attended. Combining these two groups is what he realized would be the key into putting on a solid, worthwhile, highly organized CrossFit Team Competition. We are excited to announce the Golden State Games that will be held on Saturday, May 10th at Edison High Schools Track & Field location; a brand new facility with all new equipment. Golden State Games is a team of 4 (2 male, 2 female) with both divisions of Rx & Scaled. We are opening up the spots to 40 Rx Teams and 40 Scaled Teams. Thank you and feel free to contact us at email@example.com to sign up!
We are so stoked to release our first CrossFit Open Yoga recovery video on YogiWOD.com today! Check it out, get some relief, and perform harder and faster next week! Stay tuned for more every week during the Open season. The CrossFit open is upon us! The YogiWOD crew wants to help you recover quickly and effectively from these high intensity workouts. In this six part series, Debbie will guide you through her signature cool down sequence, starting at the beginning and adding on each Monday during the Open. After all six videos are released they can be practiced in order from 1-6 for a perfect cool down/recovery sequence. They can also be used individually after a high intensity workout or on a rest day. In this first video of the series, Debbie guides you through some cooling spinal release poses like bridge, reclined cobbler’s pose, and supine twists. These shapes are perfect for after lifting heavy objects at a constantly varied high intensity.
Our new YogiWOD.com progression video is live on our site! This is one of our favorite yoga warm ups. Great to perform before a workout, as recovery, or first thing in the morning to get you moving. Let us know your feedback below and share with your gym community! In this video, Debbie provides a simple yoga sequence designed to warm up or cool you down before or after your workouts. This fluid progression is designed to connect you to your body and focus your mind for your workout. It actively opens the shoulders, hips, low back, and ankles for heavy lifting or metcons. Combine this with ten minutes on the rower or watt bike and you’ll be ready for anything! Also perform this sequence slowly on your rest day to give your body and mind some gentle recovery.

Over the passed 3 years of traveling around the world and teaching people how to move to perform better in life and sport, I managed to believe I was to busy to take care of myself. I ended up spinning out of control and getting into the worst shape of my life. I realize now, that I can not continue doing the work I do if I have no control of myself. One of the first steps towards becoming the person I know I can be, I started prioritizing sleep, eat and showing up at SF CrossFit every morning at 8am to take class with our members. I still have a long road ahead of me but I have begun to see the light at the end of the tunnel! -Coach Carl #sanfranciscocrossfit #wholelifechallenge #nfsports
